(2008-03-16) Utuncindu-Palm Sunday
As in all Catholic parishes around the world, we also celebrated Palm Sunday today. Fr. Jan visited two of our chapels: Chilumba and Muchienga. Fr. Adam celebrated two masses on the mission – one for our parishioners and one for the secondary school. So, in almost 40 of our mission’s chapels, only 3 had actual masses. In the remaining chapels our people had to pray by themselves without the presence of a priest. In most churches in the developed world, the presence of a priest is an ordinary and expected fact. In Zambia, a priest’s visit to the chapel is something extraordinary. We thank the Lord for the priests who serve in our parishes and, at the same time, we ask Him that Catholics on all missions around the world have the opportunity to attend Mass every Sunday and every holy day.
